Biography

Jennifer Schissler, DVM, MS, DACVD is a Colorado native and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado State University’s professional veterinary medical program in 2005. After completing a 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, she completed a combined master’s degree and dermatology residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Her master’s thesis was entitled, “Species Identification by Polymerase Chain Reaction of Staphylooccal Isolates from the Skin and Ears of Dogs and Evaluation of Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute Interpretive Criteria for Canine Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius." She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2009.
