Biography

Dr. Cleymaet graduated from University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She then pursued a rotating small animal internship at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, a private practice ophthalmology internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in New York, and an academic ophthalmology internship at CSU. She is currently a Comparative Veterinary Ophthalmology resident as well as a PhD candidate (retinal neuroscience) in the Jozsef Vigh Laboratory in CSU's Department of Biomedical Science. Clinical research interests include refractive error, retinal imaging, and ocular manifestations of systemic disease. Her basic science interests include the effects of opioids on the retina and circadian rhythms, ion channel (in particular, voltage gated sodium channel) physiology, and degenerative retinal disease. She hopes to pursue a career as a clinician-scientist with a focus on translational medicine following completion of her residency and PhD.

Biography

Dr. Brittany Martabano developed an interest in Veterinary Ophthalmology as a student at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine from where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Following graduation, she completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at North Carolina State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2017 and moved to Colorado to pursue an internship in Ophthalmology at CSU. Dr. Martabano will complete a three year residency in Comparative Veterinary Ophthalmology at CSU in 2021. Her areas of interest include equine ophthalmology, most specifically ocular squamous cell carcinoma, and corneal disease.

Biography

Dr. Wotman completed a Large Animal Internal Medicine residency, followed by a residency in Veterinary Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine and New Bolton Center. She stayed as clinical faculty in Large Animal Ophthalmology at Penn’s New Bolton Center, while working at the Veterinary Specialty Clinic of Delaware as a small animal ophthalmologist for 6 years. She then joined the Ophthalmology team at Colorado State University as an Assistant Professor in Comparative Ophthalmology. Her areas of clinical interest and research include equine ophthalmology, neoplasia with a focus on equine ocular squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), ocular pain management, corneal disease, glaucoma, and ocular manifestations of systemic disease.

Brian Young

Biography

Dr. Young graduated from the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and pursued a small animal rotating internship at Nashville Veterinary Specialists in Tennessee. His interest in ophthalmology began while externing with an ophthalmology clinic during his time Nashville. Following his rotating internship, Dr. Young moved to Pennsylvania to work as an ER clinician at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Clinic. In July 2018, he joined the CSU Ophthalmology team as a specialty intern with plans to pursue an ophthalmology residency next year. His areas of interest include ocular surgery, glaucoma and ocular manifestations of systemic disease.
