Dr. Bass is a board certified veterinarian within the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. He also serves on the AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) Board of Directors. He graduated from CSU in 2007 and then completed an equine internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, CA. After completion of the internship, he remained at Pioneer Equine Hospital as an associate veterinarian focusing on ambulatory practice, reproduction, lameness, and dentistry. After spending a year on the western slope with Colorado River Veterinary Services, Dr. Bass and his family decided to return to CSU as a faculty member in the Equine Field Service department where he focuses on equine ambulatory medicine and teaching of undergraduate equine science and veterinary students. In his spare time, Dr. Bass loves spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, and enjoying outdoor sports.

Britt Mactavish

Britt is a Colorado native and graduated from CSU in 2002 with a B.S. in equine science. She took on her current role within the equine hospital in 2013. She has personal horse experience in a variety of disciplines including Pony Club, eventing, dressage, and cutting. Britt brings a balance of equine industry connections, customer service, as well as veterinary hospital experience to her position. Previously she managed several equine operations in the area, including Chatellen Farm and Double Dove Ranch. In addition, she worked as a technician for Pilchuck Animal Hospital in Snohomish, WA and CSU’s equine sports medicine service, and was a representative in the HR department of Starbucks Coffee Co. before joining the team as the equine operations manager. She is passionate about our clients, her colleagues, and of course, horses.
