Biography

Naomi Hoyer grew up outside of Denver, Colorado, and graduated with her DVM from Colorado State University in 2002. She worked in private practice, both in California and Colorado, for 10 years prior to entering a dental residency program. She has been working and living in Fort Collins since 2006. She is excited to be a part of the Dentistry and Oral Surgery service here at Colorado State University. She is passionate about dental education for veterinary students, residents and recent veterinary school graduates. Her professional interests include long-term management of periodontal disease, management of dental disease with concurrent illnesses and multimodal pain control. Away from the hospital, Naomi enjoys spending time hiking, running, skiing, biking, camping and enjoying Colorado with her husband and two daughters. She also has three dogs and five chickens!

Megan Kirchner-Stephenson

Biography

Megan grew up in western Massachusetts and earned a bachelors in science degree in animal science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After a brief career as a zoo keeper she decided to earn a degree in veterinary technology from Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs, CO. After graduating from CMC Megan moved to Fort Collins and was working at a local veterinary clinic for a few years. In 2012 she started working in the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service at Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Ashley Konig

Biography

Ashley graduated with her A.A.S in Veterinary Technology from Front Range Community College in 2005. She worked in private practice for 12 years before starting her tenure at Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2017 as a PRN (as needed) technician. She joined the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service team in the fall of 2018 and has loved every minute of it! She particularly enjoys working with horses and reviewing dental radiographs. In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons, along with their three-legged Jack Russel Terrier and English Mastiff on her husband’s family’s farm.

John Pegg

Biography

Dr. Pegg is from the small town of Sutton, Ontario, Canada and graduated with a DVM degree from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2012. At graduation he was presented with the Charles Duncan McGilvray Prize for scholarship, leadership, personality, character, and interest and was nominated for the Winegard Medal, the top convocation award for all undergraduates at the University of Guelph. He has spent several years in general practice working with all species, as well as managing a practice, and working full time emergency medicine for a year. He has returned to specialty training in dentistry because of the need for better knowledge and training within the veterinary profession to address the needs of our patients. In his time outside of the hospital, John and his wife Heather enjoy hiking, camping and canoeing with their son, Willy. The family is rounded out by their 2 cats, Turnip and Big Cat (who might be half-jaguar!).
